OUR HEAD COACH – MATTHEW LAWRENCE

Matthew Lawrence MSc MCSP HCPC, Crossfit Level 2 Coach.

CrossFit 2012 Head Coach and Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist.

Matt graduated from the University of East London in 2009 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy, which allowed him to further fulfil his desire to have an all-encompassing approach to Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.

Matt also completed a Master’s degree in Sports Science, and has worked extensively in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and fitness manager. Matt’s  key achievement to date was providing physiotherapy and assistant coaching support to the Men’s Goalball team at the Paralympics in London 2012.

Matt’s main interest as a physiotherapist is in the rehabilitation setting, focusing on biomechanics and movement dysfunction. This is what led him to CrossFit, and the concept of functional fitness. Matt feels it’s important to understand the capacity of the human body, and how we should move and fully function. Matt’s aim with CrossFit is to make people realise what their bodies are capable of.
